Common Core listening skills are essential in today's classroom, so let Listen Up help train your little learners to be BIG listeners! Even we veteran teachers are finding it more and more challenging to really get today’s fast paced students to listen attentively. Though all children develop differently, consistent and purposeful practice of listening and comprehension skills set today’s students up early for high listening expectations in the learning environment for many years to come. Plus, it’s really no secret…Listening and Comprehension Skills go hand in hand with reading, writing, and all other academic areas for that matter!

Let’s face it…As educators, we are competing against the likes of fast paced, attention grabbing video games, apps, social media and more. Being an active listener is an essential life skill, yet we are finding year after year, slowly but surely we have to actually teach our students how to do this without all the bells and whistles to grab their attention.
“Listen Up!” will help your class move towards independent, active listening in meaningful and “fun” ways. Each activity can be utilized with your whole class, small groups or with individual students as needed. There are two levels, Beginning and Intermediate, so the listening lessons can be differentiated and/or extended throughout the school year.
GREAT for English Language Learners too!
The BEST to leave for substitute teachers. It's a great way to help them set the tone for the school day!
We hope you find the activities in our auditory activities for little learners as rewarding as we have in our own classroom!
