French Oral Comprehension worksheets to assess listening skills or reading response to accompany the book or You Tube video from the series "Les belles histoires" (5 and a half minutes) of LE ROI SE REMARIE by Odile Hellmann-Hurpoil.
Suitable for French Immersion students in grades 3 and 4 as a literary link to fairy tales or Middle Ages. This Medieval Times story, in which a king's twin sons influence his choice of a second wife, includes themes about remarriage and misbehavior.
The worksheets are written in French to assess listening comprehension as well as writing skills. The activities include:
-short/quick vocabulary definition activity (10-15 minutes of dictionary work and sentence writing)
-true or false comprehension questions
-short answer questions (also includes making inferences and personal connections)
-creative writing task
-media literacy task (poster) with option to include their previous knowledge of illuminated letters
These worksheets can be used as:
-a whole class activity (you can add choral pronunciation of vocabulary)
