These listening maps are a great way to have a whole class discussion about a listening sample with appropriate vocabulary. After students fill in the musical characteristics (tone color, dynamics, tempo, and mood), have a student come up to the board and slide the eighth note over to reveal the title (editable in Smart Notebook)!
There are 3 versions of the listening map for various age groups and skill sets. The first page uses the word "instruments" instead of "tone color", and asks the student to move the eighth note into a box. The second page still uses the word "instruments" but has the student move the note onto the treble clef staff. You can ask the student to move the note onto a particular note name and get BONUS TREBLE CLEF NOTE NAME REVIEW! The third page switches the word "instruments" to "tone color", and asks the student to place the note on the bass clef staff.
