PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This activity includes an audio file and a handout. It couples wonderfully with the teaching of the myth about Narcissus and Echo. It helps students see the connection between the myth and the English use of the word narcissist or narcissism. I also have students consider the difference between self-esteem, occasional narcissism, and a clinical diagnosis of narcissistic personality disorder.

Listening skills will now be measured on many standardized tests, and this activity helps students learn valuable information while at the same time practicing their listening skills. This assignment works very well for a flipped class assignment or as something students can work on independently when finishing other class work. It could also be an enrichment activity for students needing more while studying mythology.
