This sentence building sheet is a great resource to use at your listening station. After listening to a story, students will build a sentence that has been set by you. Students will have the opportunity to rewrite the sentence and illustrate it as well.
You will scramble a five word sentence at the top of the sheet before copying. This sentence should match your listening station story in some way to make it meaningful to students. Your students will cut the words apart, glue them in order, rewrite the sentence, and illustrate it.
Students will be practicing sentence skills such as beginning a sentence with a capital letter, spacing between words, and punctuation at the end of the sentence. This response sheet allows students to practice handwriting skills and to understand that pictures should match text.
As the teacher, you will write the words onto the response sheet before copying for your students.
Happy reading and writing from The Monkey Barn!
