It's here!! The 3rd Volume of Listening Stories! Now Included! - In Volume 3 I’ve added comprehension questions after each story. These questions can be read to the client or the client can read and answer. Print the question cards and cut along the dotted lines. The client(s) can draw a card and answer the questions.
Instructions for Use:
Tell Me and Color:
Print off the coloring sheets only and have clients color in the art while talking about what they are coloring. For example, “I am coloring the tree green”.
Print off a coloring sheet for each client and the story for the therapist. As the therapist reads the story, the client colors the art to match the words of the therapist. Most stories involve coloring and/or drawing. This is a time involved task and often takes approximately 20 minutes or more to complete because the clients ask for repeats and need time to color and draw. It is recommended that the story is not read quickly and the client is given time to complete the coloring and drawing.
Print off a coloring sheet for each client and the story for each client. Similar to the Listening Comprehension task only this time the client will read the story and complete the coloring sheet as they read. Make sure enough time is allotted so the coloring and drawing can be completed.
This activity can take more than one session. It is important to not rush the activity.
There are some areas that won’t be colored in at the end of the story, encourage the client to finish coloring the picture however they want.
