Improve writing and reading skills!
This packet “Literacy Activities – CCS Aligned – Sentence Fixer Uppers – Packet # 2” (“Where?”, “When?”) is the second one in the series and it builds on the “Literacy Activities – CCS Aligned – Sentence Fixer Uppers – Packet # 1” (“Who?”, “What?”).
I would definitely recommend purchasing both packets in this series as they work hand in hand, to help your students become better writers and readers.
This product includes:
•16 writing/reading activities/worksheets focused on building sentences while learning about “Where?” and/or “When?” the action takes place.
Each activity has one incomplete sentence and three choices to complete it. The three choices include images and/or words thus being appropriate for all students from remedial, benchmark and above benchmark/higher skill level. Students build 3 different sentences using the choices provided, read them, write one complete sentence using one of the three options offered, write another complete sentence using their own ending/choice.

• Blank cards for students to further create complex sentences.
Pocket Chart Activity – 2 sentence starters with 4 different endings each. Students are building complex sentences by switching various cards (take a look at the thumbnails, please). Use a pocket chart and have students work in pairs to develop complex sentences. Students: create a multitude of complete sentences by switching cards; work on reading fluency; vocabulary, and correct spelling of sight words. Students may use blank cards to create new sentences!
The activities help students:
• Improve writing skills.
• Develop and use correct sentences in both oral and written language.
• Improve reading fluency.
• Use proper letter formation, correct finger spacing, and punctuation.
• Correctly use many sight words.
This is a great way to help your students improve their writing and reading skills and I highly recommend it for Kindergarten, 1st grade, remedial 2nd/3rd and as a useful teaching tool for Resource Professionals.
