Student will enjoy reading, discussing and reflecting on this 4 paragraph article on La Tomatina as they gain cultural awareness and practice the uses of Ser and Estar in context
1) Students read article and underline forms of estar and circle the forms of ser and justify the reasoning in the left hand margin.
2) Students choose 1 word form each paragraph and define the meaning in English in the right hand margin.
3) Students summarize the gist of each paragraph in English and write one more safety rule in Spanish that might be appropriate for this festival.
4) Class shares meanings in large group and students' newly created rules. Students reflect on their feelings about this festival and interview each other conversationally.
