Multiple Meaning words are words that sound the same, and are spelled the same. They are both homonyms (have the same sound) and homographs (have the same spelling). Example: bat (flying mammal) and bat (object used to hit a ball)
This fun literacy center has a cute stoplight graphic and pleasing pictures designed to keep your students' interest as they work. This learning center is designed to provide hands on learning about multiple meaning words or Homonyms/Homographs.
Students will match pictures depicting words that have very different meanings but sound the same and are spelled the same. This is a fun way to learn about the multiple meanings of words.
Students have a worksheet to record results and to create sentences showing the various multiple meanings of the words. This worksheet can be turned into the teacher for accountability after completing the center.
