This literacy center product targets compound words. The centers may be used to introduce or review compound words in a whole group or small group setting. They may also be used for independent center time. There are 2 centers, 1 activity and 3 worksheets.
One literacy center will have students matching pictures to the compound word. The other literacy center will have students matching 2 words to form a compound word. I suggest printing the literacy centers on cardstock, laminating them and cutting them out. Store the pieces in a zip-lock baggie or a file folder. Add the answer key cards to the pieces and you will be ready to go!
The activity will have students making a center for the classroom. Print out the pieces on cardstock. Have students cut out the hearts and then cut the compound words in the middle of the two words. Those pieces may be used as puzzles throughout the review of compound words.
The worksheets are perfect to use to document learning after reviewing the skill or after students independently complete a literacy center.
