Do you find that your students often know a biology concept but don't understand a crucial word used in the question? These non-science content words are known as jargon.
The Jargon covered in this freebie is the term: SUPERIOR
Each card contains a word that typically confuses biology students when they are reading the questions, and on the same card is a biology question that uses that jargon term. The students will glue the top of the card into their notebook and will discuss with their neighbor a possible definition. A class discussion with establish a definition and the students will all write that definition under the card. The cards will come 6 to a page and can be printed on regular paper, color paper, or to save class time, can even be printed on Post It notes.

SPECIAL NOTE: To print on Post It notes, print the pdf out once, put Post It notes on to of the squares, and feed the paper through your printer. Make sure that you practice without Post It notes on your paper so you are certain the correct direction that your printer feeds the paper. Running Post It notes through your printer in the wrong direction can destroy your printer.
