Depending on the activity, prep may include printing on copy paper or cardstock, laminating, cutting and putting together materials for the number of students that you have. Directions to all activities are on a center game sheet.

Literacy Center Games
Flower Sight Word Spelling Game: Word Game:
Children place cards face down and take turns drawing a card. If student can read the word, they keep it, if they cannot they must put it back. If they draw a Sun or Cloud Card follow its directions They must read all their cards, the person who has the most cards wins. Memory Game:
Make two sets of the sight word cards and children place the cards face down in rows. They take turns turning two cards over to see if they have matched the same words. If it does they keep both cards, if not they turn the cards back over and the next child has a turn. The person who has the most matches wins the game.
Flowers Roll It! Read It Short Vowel Sounds:
Two game cards with words or sentences for Short Vowel Sounds of a, e, i, o & u; Students roll one dice and read the words or sentences in the row they have rolled.
Butterfly Real & Nonsense Word Sort:
Children place cards face down and take turns drawing a card. Student reads words and decides whether it is a real word or nonsense words. Child checks with partner or group to make sure he/she is accurate. Child writes or places words on t-chart on white board or use sheet provided in this resource (each student may have a sheet or you could use one sheet for the whole game). The next person takes a turn. Play until all cards have been used.
Butterfly Word Game:
Students insert vowels butterflies (a, e, i, o & u) onto line on the word cards and make words. Students can write words on white boards
Math Center Games
Flower Ten Frame Match :
Use these ten frame mats with students to help them with their one-to-one correspondence, counting skills and ten frame use. Print and laminate the cards so students can place the correct number of flowers on the ten frames that corresponds with the numeral on the page and also practice writing the numerals with markers. The flower template are provided, but you may use any manipulate you want.
Flowers & Butterflies Roll & Bump Games:
Roll two or three number cubes and add those numbers. Cover that space with your marker. You can bump your partner’s color and take their space! If you cover a space with two markers stacked on top of each other, you lock that space and can’t be bumped. The player to use all ten of their markers first is the winner!
Butterfly Greater Than, Less Than or Equal Clip Game:
Children place a paper clip or clothes pin to the correct answer of what symbol: greater than , less than or equal to is correct. Numbers 0-100 are included. Note: Put a little sticker on the back of card in the correct answer space so students can self-correct their answers.
Flowers & Butterflies Roll & Cover:
(2 different games): One Dice Roll:
Roll one die and count your dots. Cover the number of dots you rolled with your marker. Two players will need to use two different colors. Covering the most numbers wins! Two Dice Roll:
