Literacy Night Activities
While this packet is not intended to be an entire "Literacy Night in a Box", it is intended to add to your already great ideas, giveaways, and school traditions. Enclosed you will find two different activities in two different versions, broken down by early elementary and upper elementary.
You will find two versions of:
*Students Interview their Parents/Chaperones
*Parents Interview their Children
After the interviews, everyone can draw a "Profile of a Reader" while incorporating information from the interviews into the picture.
In addition you will find two versions of a Literacy Night Scavenger Hunt....one for lower elementary and another for upper. The lower elementary version has a lot more space for those little fingers to record their answers. It is intended that the two pages are to be copied back to back. The upper level version is 3 pages long.
We have had many different activities over the years at our Literacy Nights. We gave away books, one per student per night for coming. We've done a "Book Walk" like a "Cake Walk", so that when the music stops, the students get to pick a book that they are standing beside. We have offered special guest readers from our Board Offices, parent volunteers, teachers, etc. So be as creative as you would like.
Please remember that this is a single user license. It is fine to use this school wide due to the nature of this product. If you share it among additional schools, multi-user licenses are available for purchase.
