These are simple square posters I created for my preschool/pre-k classroom available in a downloadable 7 page pdf file for you to print out and use. 3 have a color border, 3 have a blank border.
1. Initially / 1st / What happens in the Beginning of the story?
2. Next / 2nd / What happens in the Middle of the story?
3. Lastly / 3rd / What happens in the End?
This allows the child/children to discuss, draw, and write what happens throughout the story. The square leaves room for a photo or drawing of the book/section and anecdotes. This helps the child learn about sections of a story and sequences in the forms of 1st-2nd-3rd and Beginning-Middle-End, as well as other vocabulary words: Initially-Next-Lastly.
In my classroom, I had these laminated so the children can either draw/write on appropriate-sized paper to be taped on to each section or use a wipe-off marker. For older grades, you can print out the pages for each child and create a booklet they can work on at home or in the classroom.
