This package is designed to aid the children to move from oral to written language and to reading. Patterns of language that are familiar to the children in their oral language are used coupled with the need to either complete the pattern using words provided or to repeat the supplied pattern in answer to a question. Other activities require the children to follow directions involving words previously introduced. Four posters of doing words are also included to introduce the concept of verbs. Some pages include pictures in uncolored outline format to foster extra fine motor activity by providing coloring opportunities. As young children often have difficulty reading instructions at the top of worksheets, this information is included in the Contents and Teacher’s Notes section of this package.
