After reading the book, Literacy Work Stations Making Centers Work by Debbie Diller, you may want to get started with her ideas right away! But where do you start? Right here. This has the basics that you need to get your classroom started with literacy work stations. Choose what you want to use and tailor it to meet your needs. This set is made so that you can print what works for you, laminate, and get started. I included pictures with and without names in case you would like to name them something different. I did not necessarily name all of mine the same as Diller's.
Each workshop has:
its own color border.
an “I Can” card with some choices.
a blank “I Can card”.
a blank “I Can card” with “I must” printed above it in case you have an activity that you want all students to do before choosing an activity of their own.
a list of activities so you can print, cut apart, and add to the blank “I Can” card as you are ready. (font is Hello Kid Marker in case you want/need to make others).
two different sized smaller versions that you can use to make a rotation chart and/or label materials
Please purchase a copy of Debbie Diller's book to utilize this to its' fullest possibilities. You can find different ways to construct a rotations board in it.
