Fun games to play and practice letters/sounds and CVC words.
Use them as a resource with your small group intervention, or you can set them up as literacy centers, since the games are easy enough for students to play independently.
✔Roll the dice board game (for letters/sounds).Find out what happens when they land on a food item, or a prize item!
✔Roll the dice board game (for CVC words).
✔Spin and win board (can be used with letters/sounds and CVC words). Students spin and they look for the item on their sheet. They must say the letter or sound, or read the CVC word. Then they color the item. The winner is the player with all the items colored.
You can improvise a spinner with a brad and a paper clip, or you can use these very inexpensive and super easy to set up plastic spinners:
School Specialty Plastic Game Spinners
(My class can’t have enough of these, they just love activities with spinners!)
✔4 different recording sheets for Spin and Win (letters/sounds practice)
✔4 different recording sheets (Spin and Win) with CVC words
✔Instructions for both games
