Are you looking for a fun way to practice solving literal equations with your students? Look no further! This activity contains a set of 30 puzzle pieces on literal equations. Students will be given ten equations and will be asked to solve each equation for both x and y. They will then match up their answers using the puzzle pieces. Every question uses the variables a, x, and y and the numbers 1/2 or 2. This forces the students to actually do the math rather than just look for matching variables/numbers. This is also a great visual that allows the students to see one equation written three different ways! This activity can be used as an independent assignment, partner activity, math center, and more!
