### PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Students in Algebra 1 need practice solving literal equations. This worksheet assumes that students can rely on an "order of operations ladder" to "undo" each step of the literal equation.

Showing you this is probably easier than explaining it, so please hover over thumbnail image 3 while you read the explanation below:

------------ Please hover over thumbnail image 2 to see what I mean by an "order of operations ladder" -----------------------

For instance, if a student were solving the equation ax + by = c for variable x, the order of operations ladder would show that x is first being multiplied by a, and then added to by. To solve for x, you would have to first subtract the term "by", and then divide both sides by "a"..

The worksheet includes spiral review questions.

The preview file is a pdf to show you what you're getting; the product file is a word document, which you may edit for your students.
