24 Literal and Nonliteral Task Cards with a Recording Sheet and Answer Key
Each task cards has a literal or nonliteral sentence for students to read. After students read the sentence they can circle if the phrase in the sentence is literal or nonliteral on their recording sheet.
2 Nonliteral reading response papers. These papers are for students to find nonliteral phrases while they are reading a literature text on their own. They will write the name of the text, the sentence that contains the nonliteral phrase and then the meaning of the nonliteral phrase. There are four sections on the papers.
1 Independent text with nonliteral phrases and 4 comprehension questions.
1 Nonliteral matching sheet. Students will color each nonliteral phrase in a different color and then color the meaning of that phrase in the same color.
