This unit is for teachers who are having their students analyze literary terms/rhetorical devices within narratives or other pieces of literature.
PURPOSE OF ESSAY: The purpose of the rhetorical analysis essay is to give students the opportunity to break down/analyze one rhetorical device of choice. In addition to the analysis, students will compare the two authors’ uses of that same rhetorical device. Students will argue how these authors use that device to create, fulfill, and/or challenge audience expectations.
