This activity provides time for creative expression and two choices for students to demonstrate their comprehension and analytical skills with regard to a variety of literary texts. A student may choose to write a poem with corresponding analysis or to select a significant quotation from the anchor text and create an illustration with corresponding written analysis. A checklist-style rubric is provided for each option and can be edited as needed.
