Product Description
This standards-based product contains excerpts from the novel The Great Gatsby and Breakfast at Tiffany's and a chart to compare points of characterization between Jay Gatsby and Holly Golightly based on their interactions with the narrator and what is said about them by other voices in the text. A writing prompt asks students to consider the idea that Truman Capote modeled his text after Fitzgerald's work and to provide evidence based on the setting, plot, characterization, theme, and narrative strategies of each excerpt.

This lesson can be used with a study of either novel or as a stand alone piece.

See my novel study on The Great Gatsby that includes this piece.
