Product Description

Students love this and were so excited to find literary devices while listening to some of their favorite songs from the past and present!!!! This is an awesome way to teach literary devices used in poems and songs or to review them!

-The product includes a Power Point with 10 slides listing 10 common devices (alliteration, allusion, hyperbole, imagery, metaphor, personification, repetition, rhyme, simile, onomatopoeia) used in songs and poetry (with examples of each one). It also includes 20 more slides, each with a different popular song that students will love to listen to and analyze! Each song is accompanied by a set of lines that students will look at and -analyze. They will identify literary devices used by the artist within that set of lines. A hyperlink to the song's original video is also included.

- Included is a Microsoft Word document with space for definitions and examples of each device and a graphic organizer for students to record devices identified in each set of lines. In the culminating activity students will use the graphic organizer to choose their own song and find literary devices in their chosen song.

-**You may find it easiest to make a playlist of these 20 songs and play them on a wireless bluetooth speaker.
