Instead of the typical passive teacher lecture defining key terms have your students work cooperatively and actively to tap into prior knowledge to solve this like a puzzle. All of the definitions are listed on the attached worksheets and students can work in pairs or small groups to combine knowledge to place definitions with their proper literary terms. Students have to cooperatively discuss and problem solve to get all of the definitions into the correct place on the Terminology sheet.
Having the students work cooperatively and actively is far more in line with Common Core standards and curriculum than mundane lecture and notes.

the Literary Elements Power Point and the Literary Elements Examples from The Crucible Power Point. All three items along with the provided quiz would provide you with 4-6 days of instruction and activity in your classroom.
Day 1 -2 students work in groups to match definitions with literary terminology.
Day 3: teacher leads discussion with literary elements power point to ensure accuracy of student answers.
Day 4-5: students rejoin groups to match examples from The Crucible with the Literary elements.
Day 5-6: teacher uses The Crucible Literary Elements examples Power Point to foster discussion and allow students to check the veracity of their work.
