22 Literary Genres
Because many of my seventh grade students do not read often at home or for pleasure, it is hard for them to use a book as a reference for a specific genre. But, they have seen numerous movies. :) This is why I use a well-known movie to demonstrate to them an example of the different genres. This greatly helps my kids, including my numerous ELL students, to have a reference they can understand.
In addition to the posters, I included a PowerPoint file with all posters to use as a teaching tool. Plus, I have created four reference pages with all the posters which can be printed in gray scale and added to binders or notebooks. It looks great printed at a reduction of 70% and fits perfectly into a composition book for an interactive notebook. Finally, included is a chart to track the year's reading of different genres which can also be reduced 70% to include in an interactive notebook.
