This project allows teachers to assign a similar project during independent reading assignments. Students can select a novel of their choice and complete this project once they have finished reading. The components of this project include setting, plot, figurative language, quotes, point of view, and many more.
Students will be required to find examples of several different components and include each example on an individual paper "tile" that will eventually be glued to a posterboard and presented to the class. Each student will complete 24 tiles total.
This product includes an assignment sheet and the individual tiles that students will use for each separate component of the project. I usually provide each student with an assignment sheet and make tons of copies of the tiles on different color paper to have available in the classroom. The tiles are designed to be printed on regular sized paper (8.5"x11") and then cut equally in quarters (4.25"x5.5"). When glued to a traditional, horizontal posterboard, 24 tiles will fit perfectly. I've included the assignment sheet as a .docx so that you can adjust the components or the number of tiles included in the final project.
