This assignment gives students the opportunity to compare themes across texts. I have taught this lesson using the short story "Flowers for Algernon" and either the reader's theater version of Of Mice and Men (from READ magazine) or the novel, depending on student reading levels. It includes the assignment, a graphic organizer, and a scoring rubric.
**Note: Only one graphic organizer is included, but you might want to give students two since the assignment asks them to respond to two questions.
If you are unfamiliar with the PEPSI paragraph structure, a free handout is available in my store.
