This test evaluates students' knowledge of important literary terms that they need to know for the NC English II EOC. There are 45 questions on this evaluation. This quiz asks students to define, identify, and analyze. Answer key for multiple choice is included.
The first section of the test asks students to match terms with their definition. (terms such as: simile, personification, parallelism, irony, purpose, point of view, irony, etc.)
The second section uses examples of literature that showcase the terms. Students are asked to identify the term that is present in the example. Some of the questions include figurative language examples, some ask for the tone of the passage, some ask them to use inferencing skills.
The final section uses an excerpt from Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have A Dream" speech. This sections asks students to analyze the purpose of Kin's use of literary terms within his speech. These are short answer questions.
