In this packet you will find 36 cards (6 of 6 different designs) with
which you can form Literature Circle groups in your classroom.
You will be able to form circles of 6 jobs for up to 36 students, circles of 5 jobs for up to 30 students, or circles of 4 jobs for up to 24 students.
The jobs included are the original six developed by Harvey Daniels who is credited with popularizing the use of Literature Circles: Discussion Director, Summarizer, Connector, Illustrator, Literary Luminary, and Vocabulary Enricher. Passage Picker and Word Wizard job cards are included as alternates for the last two.
Simply print the cards, laminate them for durability, and cut them
apart. When you are ready to form Literature Circles in your
classroom, determine the number of circles and the number in
each circle. Select the cards that you will need, shuffle the cards,
then pass them to your students. The students will walk about the
classroom finding their workmates.
Collect the cards to use the next time you need to form Literature Circles in your classroom.
