Liven up your reading instruction with Literature Circles! Literature Circles are a fun way to encourage reading and get students to use comprehension strategies. This pack contains the following literature circle job sheets for each member of your reading book club:
-Discussion Director-This student is in charge of leading the group discussion. He/she will use the QAR format to create questions to lead the discussion. I have included a QAR guide sheet to help the discussion director form these questions.
-Cool Connector- This student is in charge of connecting to the text. He/she will make a text to text, text to self, and text world connection to share with the group.
-Reading Reporter- This student is in charge of reporting what happened during the text. They need to summarize what they read and include important story elements in their report.
-Insightful Illustrator- While reading, this student will illustrate their favorite part of the text. They will include a title and caption with their work.
-Wordy Wordsmith- While reading, this student will look for interesting words to share with the group. They will need a dictionary and thesaurus to help them with their job.
-Literary Luminary- This student will look for interesting quotes, or important events in the text. He/she will then share their findings with the group and lead a discussion on what they found.
