This is a great organizational tool for any 6-12th grade student or class! When students get to junior high and high school, much of the reading they have to complete is at home. Whether it is a novel, informative text, etc., it can be difficult for students to make sure that they get all of that reading done!
When students participate in literature circles, it can be difficult for the teacher to monitor student progress and to make sure they are on track with their reading. Rather than put all of the organizational work on the teacher: setting deadlines, allotting a certain amount of pages to be read, etc., you can teach students how to manage their own time!
This packet includes a double-sided calendar template and a guide to help students plan out the number of pages they will read by each deadline or literature circle. Students will practice planning out their time holistically by including other project dates, after-school activities, family activities, etc.
