Product Description
This download includes a variety of resources for literature circles. The first document allows the students or yourself to write each student next to the job name for each meeting day. This ensures that each student has a chance to do a job. This also lets you see what job each student has. If you do not want to give out specific jobs, this sheet could be for who is recording the information for each part when in discussion groups. The next documents provide a note-taking sheet for each job. You can use this if you are giving each student a different job for the discussion. This helps the students prepare for group. For the summarizer, there are two different forms they could use. The jobs are summarizer, connector, character analyzer, theme identifier, opinion expresser, question creator The next resource is a note-taking sheet for the students. This is perfect if you do not want to assign jobs to the students. In this way, each student is responsible for finding information about the summary, connections, characters, theme, opinions, and questions. There are two versions of this resource to allow for differentiation. Then, there is a discussion recording sheet. This is for the students to record what they discuss in group. If you had jobs, you can have each student record their information as they discuss. If you did not give jobs, you can assign a student a specific area to write. In this way, each student will have a short writing assignment. Next, there is a sign for the students to have that provides guidelines as they work. If you want the students to create their own guideline for group work, the following document will provide a location for that. Then, there are some discussion starters that the students can refer to when speaking. This can help students begin conversations. It also helps them respectfully discuss with each other. The second to last assignment provides a place for the students to reflect. The students can think about how they did during their discussion. Then, the students can create a goal for the future to improve. The last resource is a grading sheet that you can use to assess the students as they work. You can do a check system or assign points for each component.
I hope these resources help!
