This is a writing assessment I use at the end of a literature circle unit- it can be used at all high school levels, 9th-12th. The handout includes questions for student to answer evaluating to the following topics: the lit. circle process, teacher involvement, their own learning, and the book they read. The rubric stresses organization and content, but I also do many writing mini-lessons throughout the unit, so the rubric has specific expectations for mechanics: using conjunctive adverbs, semicolons, colons, commas, etc. correctly.
