The two pages of think tic-tac-toe boards can be used in a variety of ways. You may see that they fit best by chapters, or at the end of the story. The students choose 3 activities to complete (3 across, 3 down, or diagonal).

Choose a word from your chapter that was new to you or interesting. Divide your paper into fourths. Write your word in the middle. Choose a box to write: 1. A synonym of the word 2. An antonym of the word 3. The definition from the dictionary 4. Use the word and create a simile.
Pretend that this story is being made into a movie. Design a cover for the movie case.
Choose a character in the story. Use the double bubble to compare and contrast that character with yourself.
