Research shows that sometimes giving students a "role" or "job" isn't the best way to construct literature circles. Instead I am trying a different method where they choose a "response idea" that they just bring to the group on meeting days. They answer these responses AFTER they have read their selection. This way they are more in tune with the book and not focused on their "role." It has worked great in my classroom. These are all the documents you should need to set up your groups. You can do minilessons with the different response ideas so they know how to respond to those questions.
