Are clichés a dime a dozen in your students’ writing?

This 6-page reproducible activity
• introduces students to CLICHÉS
• shows the PROBLEMS with using them in writing
• gives EXAMPLES of how to CORRECT them

Then it presents a 20-item list of clichés, which students “translate” into wording that is not trite.

A separate activity presents a 2-page story filled with clichés. Students use their new awareness to identify the clichés and then correct them.

ANSWER KEYS are included.
