Some books tell very old stories and others tell tales that are new,
But with good preparation and planning, a festival’s perfect for you!
A Literature Festival is a reading celebration that brings stories to life. A festival offers flexibility since the books can be any genre, any length, and any reading level. Students select a book that they’ve enjoyed reading and create a carnival game based on the story. The stories come to life when the students put on a costume and become the character. Combining costumes, characters, and carnival games makes this festival fun for everyone! Family and friends are invited to attend, play the games, and try to win tickets that can be exchanged for prizes. The festival will excite students, stimulate interest in the literary selections, and provide the educational community with a unique way to celebrate reading. Illustrated guidelines, supplemental activities, and useful resources are included in this collection.
