Product Description
This chart allows students to use a personal piece of literature for literary techniques study. Additionally, it can be used on texts being studied by multiple students.
Students can share their examples from their texts with the large group.

Enlarge this chart at a local printing company or education agency to use as an anchor chart, part of carousel reports, or for centers and small group work.

Use in an interactive notebook. Final print size may have to be adjusted depending on the size of interactive notebooks being used by the learners.

Complete the chart and cut apart on the lines to use as a matching game.

Encourage students to use colored pens, colored pencils, colored markers, and highlighters to customize and personalize their charts. This usually works to increase engagement and retention!

Within a printed text, have students highlight, label, or creatively underline the different types of literary techniques used in literature. A classwide code could also be created. For example, you may highlight personification in pink while idioms use a zig-zag underline. Use this document to record the code to be used.
