If adolescents are to understand the physical, emotional and spiritual effects of man's inhumanity to man, Night (Elie Wiesel), is a good starting platform for English and Social Studies teachers. This 48-page unit engages the students on an emotional level and pushes them to think and analyze through thought-provoking discussions and writings about some of the principle players of the Third Reich, its victims, philosophies, and the power of propaganda. Aligned with CCS, it has over 18 handouts, chapter by chapter study questions, essay topics, projects, three quizzes and a final test.
