PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

When you are teaching a piece of literature, whether it is a novel, short story, memoir, etc., there is a great opportunity to bring in music as a paired text. Students spend so much time listening to music, and it’s a way to get them more involved with the piece you are trying to teach. Whether there is an allusion to the piece that you can explore (think “All I Really Want” by Alanis Morrissette and Great Expectations) or simply a song that just “fits” with a novel (think “Heathens” by Twenty One Pilots and The Outsiders), there are many opportunities to link music with the literature you are teaching in your classroom. Includes three activities that you can tailor to your classroom needs.
