Little Bunny's Sleepless Night is a delightful story about a little bunny who thinks he would be happier sleeping at his different friends' houses. It turns out that there is no better place to sleep than at home!
This Reader's Theater of Little Bunny's Sleepless Night has eight speaking parts. It may be used in a reading group, reading center, or used independently for free-time small group reading.
Character names are included. Simply hole-punch and thread with yarn for a nametag necklace. You may also staple them to long strips of construction paper to make headbands. (I would copy them onto cardstock first.)
Reader's Theaters promote reading and speaking fluency. They allow the children to use different character voices and read with expression and meaning.
Reader's Theaters can be presented to another class, the principal, before an assembly, or even to a small group of parents. Students may also present to other students in the class. You might even have a "Reader's Theater" day in which different student groups present their own Reader's Theater in your classroom.
