Learning to set a goal effectively is vital to students' success. Using the book, "The Little Engine That Could" as a basis, this lesson teaches the importance of making goals, how to make simple goals, and the vital importance of effort and persistence to success. This is a great lesson to help students achieve this in a fun way that they will relate to and remember.
I designed this presentation to use with my Pre-K through 3rd grade students. It can easily be adapted to teach them on their developmental level. It includes 18 slides, a master slide to customize and personalize it to fit your needs, links to 3 different videos that help to explain the process. One video is of the book, "The Little Engine That Could" being read aloud and is animated.
I would schedule 30-45 minutes for this lesson and activity.
The PowerPoint is customizable and includes practice to support you in your lesson. The presentation includes both animations and transitions to hold your students' interest. Make your lesson come alive for your students and help them to connect to the concept in a fun way that will help them to remember the important lessons you need for them to remember.
