This product was inspired by Vashti Harrison's best-selling picture book "Little Leaders: Bold Women in Black History." These organizers a great way to ensure your students are keeping their research organized and focusing on the most important aspects of these historical women. These activities can easily serve as a note-taking template for an essay or presentation. It can also serve as the biography project itself! These brochures are perfect for integrating literacy into other subjects, especially social studies. Students will not only benefit from the experience of learning about these diverse figures, but they'll practice their mapping and timeline skills as well. These organizers allow students to go beyond reading to really interact with Harrison's text as they determine which facts are relevant. While these are great activities for Black History Month and Women's History Month, they can be used year round as well!
