This reader's theater was written for a small group of 3 students. Two narrators are trying to recite the poem Little Miss Muffet while Little Miss Muffet acts it out but she keeps interrupting with questions and statements. It gets Narrator 1 more and more upset while Narrator 2 tries to keep the peace and make things right. They have to figure out what curds and whey is as well as use context clues on the rest and get interrupted before they are able to finish. Narrator 2 finally ends the poem for everyone. I use all of my Reader's Theaters to help students improve their fluency. My students, especially the ones struggling to read, still require motivation to improve and that is where Reader's Theater comes in. My name is Melanie Whitesides but my store name is Wonbyone and I hope that you will enjoy this small group Reader's Theater. As I have said before, small groups are better because students aren't waiting as long to do their part and they get more practice in. My ESL students find these scripts to be their favorite part of our lesson time. Please let me know what you think of this one. Most of my scripts are black and white to make it easier to photocopy. Thank you. I HAVE used it on a higher 2nd grade class but they needed extra practice time and took it home. If you like this script look for other Mother Goose scripts. I've even put a book of them together.
