Product Description

Little Miss Sunshine serves as a good example of the ‘quest genre’. In literature, a quest is a journey towards a goal. The Hoover family sets out on a journey (a road trip in this case) from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Redondo Beach, California. The heroes in this film (actually they look like anti-heroes at first) must overcome many obstacles during their travel, before they obtain their goal.

The Viewing Guide follows the film and asks students to pause and notice how the quest genre and the narrative structure unfold. It's a fun film to teach important literary grammar.
