This lesson includes all the activities you need for a full day or two of lessons related to "The Little Old Lady Who Wasn't Afraid of Anything" by Linda Williams. A great fall story that you can read whether or not you celebrate Halloween because it turns out just to be about a scarecrow!
Props: Print the colorful props to retell the story of a scarecrow in the making. Kids love making the sounds to match each piece!
Blank pieces: Let students color the blank pieces (gloves, hat, boots, shirt, pants, pumpkin head) to make a scarecrow of their own.
Color by Shape: Have students practice identifying shapes by coloring them correctly according to the key at the top.
Addition:. Two math worksheets are provided for students’ practice.
Patterning Practice: Use the “Practicing Patterns” card to let students practice hearing and completing patterns aloud in a whole group. Then, let students can practice completing the picture patterns on their own as independent work or homework. Two levels of patterning are included to adjust to your student’s abilities.
