What is Reader’s Theater?
Reader’s Theater is a “script that is adapted from literature.” Students practice reading an assigned character’s role in a script.
Reader’s Theater provides students with an authentic experience of collaboratively reading a text aloud with several of their peers. The purpose is to provide students with additional practice in reading fluently and with expression all while having fun!
When can I use Reader’s Theater?
You can use it during literacy centers or during guided reading. Read this blog post to learn more. All you need to do is print the scripts and assign roles. You do not need to purchase props or any additional materials.

About the Preview
The preview includes a sample from The 3 Little Pigs. Although it is not the sample in the title, it contains a good overview of what you would receive. The preview shows the format for ALL Reader’s Theater packets and shows the types of activities included.
Anything else I should know?
You can use the text comprehension worksheets for any similar book. For example, if you purchase The Three Little Pigs resource, you can use the worksheets for any Three Little Pigs text, not just the Reader’s Theater script.
