Little Red Hot is a cute book written by Eric A. Kimmel. It is a very funny variation of Little Red Riding Hood. If you haven't read it yet, please read it to your class. They will love it!
In this packet you will find a worksheet each for possessives, multiple meaning words, sequence of events, and contractions. A two-page comprehension test is included which consists of true/false questions and multiple choice questions. Some of the multiple choice questions have more than one answer. Along with this test, there is also a written comprehension test. Included, too, is an informative article on wolves. The children have questions to answer on this article including finding the author's purpose. After reading this article, there is a one-page paper for them to use to write an informative article on wolves. Also in this packet is an original story called Apple. It, too, is a variation of Little Red Riding Hood. After the students read this story, there is a page of questions in which the students decide whether an event happened in Little Red Hot, Apple, or both. After that, there is a writing page for students to list three things that were the same and three things that were different about the stories. Last, there is a page in which the students are asked to write a letter to their favorite character. All in all, there are 17 pages for the students to complete. This would be terrific to space out over a few days or to use for your ELA block in case you need a sub for a day or two.
This book has an AR test. Its number is 157949. The book level is listed at 2.8.
