This reader's theater was written for 3 students. It was written for students who are on a 1st grade reading level. The level of the script is H to I. In the script, Little Red Riding Hood’s grandma is sick. She wants to take her a basket of food. The wolf sees her and runs ahead to grandma’s house. He dresses up as grandma and waits. When Little Red Riding Hood comes, the wolf chases her and almost gets her. The woodcutter comes just in time. I use all of my Reader's Theaters to help students improve their fluency. I use small group reader's theaters because it creates less wait time for the students and less wait time equals more time for each student practicing and less time off task. My students, especially the ones struggling to read, still require motivation to improve and that is where Reader's Theater comes in. My name is Melanie Whitesides but my store name is Wonbyone. I hope that you will enjoy this small group Reader's Theater. Please let me know what you think of this one. The only thing in color on this script is the girl on the front page. Most of my scripts are black and white to make it easier to photocopy. This way it takes less ink. Thank you.
